Are there any decent aftermarket HID kits for the Mk4 Mondeo? I sat in my friends car the other night when it was dark, and his factory-fitted Xenons gave off an impressive amount of illumination. I don't know much about Xenon lights but I've been reading up on them today and read that they should only be fitted to "projector" style headlight assemblies, rather than "reflector" style - I'm not sure which the Mondeo has. The car currently has halogens, which look like this if it helps:

Is this setup suitable for a HID installation? If so, any recommendations?

Thanks.

There are aftermarket kits available.

You'd be better off getting some Ford OEM lights though from a scrapped car.

Loads of info for Mk4 lights here:

Best way to do this is a full conversion by getting all the parts from a salvaged car. You also need the headlamp wash and levelling device. The original type approval requires a method of cleaning the lens and self levelling. Otherwise your modified vehicle will not conform.

any HID kit from ebay etc will be fine for those headlights, get 5k or 6k in the bulb type you need,

you dont need washers or auto leveling to pass mot either, my car passed fine with the correct beam pattern.

something like this will do the job, i run this kit, very good quality. im not sure if the mondeo is canbus for bulb out warnings
