I know you’re not supposed to advertise here but I really think customer service like this needs to be talked up.
A while back I needed to replace the right front fog lamp lens on my 968. I posted on here and was told it was a sealed unit and I’d have to buy the whole lamp not just the lens. So I ordered a lamp from Porsch-Apart, which duly arrived through the post a few days later.
Whilst waiting I removed the old fog lamp as it had shards of broken glass sticking out from it. A very simple task. Just one screw to remove the indicator, another screw to remove the fog lamp and unplug the electrical connector. Holding said shattered fog lamp in my hands I think, “won’t be needing that again – it’s a sealed unit” and promptly threw it in the bin.
Bad move. When the part arrives it turns out the lens and reflector housing is a sealed unit but it doesn’t come with the back part that holds the bulbs and takes the electrical connector. I’d just thrown that away a week earlier
Anyway on the phone to Porsch-Apart and explain to them I need the back part. “What back part?” they say. “It’s a sealed unit, we sent you the whole lamp.” After a bit of explanation of the part I need I agreed to send them an email with my contact details on and they said they would get back to me when they had identified the part.
Just had a phone call from Simon at Porsch-Apart. They’ve identified the part and apparently it’s not a part you can buy anymore
however luckily they have one in stock which is now winging it’s way to me free of charge
So thanks to Simon and all at Porsch-Apart
