Why can't I find a car I want to keep?
Discussion
This isn't really a whatcar thread, more of a "Is this behaviour normal?" thread.
Last year I went through 5 cars, simply because I got bored. They weren't the best cars in the world I admit, but they were good cars.
Now I've had my VTS 3 months or so I'm considering getting something else.
Does everyone get like this?

From 2004 to 2010 i had 3 vectras, one astra, one peugot and one bmw.
I then settled down somewhat with a Mondeo and havnt had the urge at all for 5 months, which is a massive change. I think you get bored of shelling out money an always losing after a while.
Ive even gone about 2 weeks without checking the prices of the VXR8 on Autotrader.

It's normal.
The trouble is that often no car can do everything you want, so a sports car becomes a pain to own, a barge becomes too expensive, a cheap to run diesel becomes dull etc etc.
The only solution is being able to afford 4 or 5 cars at a time.
I like the sound of the last sentence. Just a shame you'll have to be 30+ to be able to insure 4 or 5 cars at a timeThe trouble is that often no car can do everything you want, so a sports car becomes a pain to own, a barge becomes too expensive, a cheap to run diesel becomes dull etc etc.

8 years driving....
on the 11th car i think....much as i love it at the moment i cant see me keeping the 944 forever, the deep desire for a Chimeara just wont go away...if all goes to plan this summer will see that itch scratced, the 944 will have to go to release some lolly if this happens...
I just hope with the Chim it wont be a case of meeting your heroes syndrome...

I'm only on my 10th car in 14 years driving....had my beloved Prelude for 4 years, and another one for two years before that. It depends on whether you find the car that's right for you - but beware if you do: I loved my hondas dearly but being emotionally chained to a car stops you experiencing others - it's quite liberating to get rid of a car you've had for a long time so you can try out lots of different ones.
Because you've not bought a Lancia integrale yet.
Into the 15th year of ownership - daily driver, tow-car, perfect winter car (on winter tyres). Gets abandoned for the Caterham, sometimes for months at a time, but it still fires up first turn and is as special as ever to drive. 190,000 and counting.
Can't be many cars that still make you look back after parking it and grin ;-)

Stunning cars, would love one to keep my Escort Cossie company! Got any pics please? Into the 15th year of ownership - daily driver, tow-car, perfect winter car (on winter tyres). Sorry but I think anything less than a year is madness. I can accept changing car because of major life changes (new job etc) but you have bought the wrong car if you feel the need to change that often.
And when people say I have had 10 cars in 10 years it doesn't make it normal, just that other people are as indecisive as you, or make as many mistakes when choosing the car they 'want'.
