Hmmm, not sure about this one myself as I remember reading an old classic car article saying that this caused water to build up in the engine, exhaust etc through condensation over a period of time. My mechanic also advised against it, saying it was better to leave it stand and take it out for a good 10-20 mile blast when weather permits.
This is what I do but suppose it's all down to personal preferance, as I'm no mechanic and couldn't tell you which is right or wrong.

My car is in a communal garage below where i live. If i disconnect the battery when the car is locked the alarm is going to off and drive people mad ( well at least for 5 minutes , then it just turns itself off as you said , hopefully!!
.How can i disconnect the siren , is there a fuse somewhere ? that should solve the problem and the car can still be locked and the battery will be saved .
