Ordered 2 new springs for the Griff on Tuesday, from a main dealer.

The dealer said they'd collect them from the factory today and have them ready to pick up this afternoon. Just had a call 3.40pm...

"Sorry mate, we forgot to put your springs in the car!"

in' Great.

Now means my whole weekend is destroyed as I won't get them fitted as arranged, tomorrow.

To add to this, they won't even deliver them from the factory to my place.

I've even offered to pay the extra cost for delivery but "No, can't do that"

Talk about bending over backwards, NOT.

Cheers Stuart, but even if they have them in, I'm still gonna struggle to get them until tomorrow, the same position that I'm in now.

Thanks anyway - it was only a rant which I needed to do to stop my head blowing up.

Just to defend our corner slightly, having been to the factory today to drop a car off and collect a selection of parts, the Griff springs were not "forgotten" - they were actually not available and had not been booked out by the factory.

Despite it being a factory error, WE are paying the courier charges to get them here as quickly as possible tomorrow. (It is the factory - not ourselves - that are insistent they must be sent out to the dealer and not the end user.)

Our Parts Department are annoyed and frustrated about it as well...though, we appreciate, not as much as you. I don't believe the "quote" from ourselves is an accurate reflection of the conversation, especially bearing in mind the fact that the car is in another garage anyway and I believe the other NW TVR Dealer told you they could not source the parts till next week anyway.

Please don't think I'm having a dig here, I'm just explaining our position. I do hope you get them sorted ASAP. We'll certainly do our best to get them to you as quickly as possible tomorrow.

Stuart, to set it straight, I haven't launched a personal attack on your dealership. I may have referred to you as a dealer but since I found out the springs wont be here today, everything has been a something. (if you know what I mean)

Your parts guy was honest and I appreciate him ringing me to say they weren't there. At least he didn't shirk his responsibility. He did say they forgot to put them in the car though and I'm surprised he took the blame if it was the factorys fault.

I hear what you are saying about 'the other dealer' not being able to get them until next week but, I don't think this has any bearing on it as I was told that you could get them today. So I ordered them through yourselves.

My thread has not named a dealer, merely vented my frustration.

The second post I made was aimed at the factory as I appreciate that you have regulations which are out of your control. The parts guy mentioned that you are covering the cost for delivery specially for tomorrow. Sorry I didn't mention this in the original posts, I should have.

Thanks for your views. Working in the trade myself, I can understand them.

Its just a bummer when things don't go to plan!

FOR THE RECORD: If anybody reading this knows which dealer I am referring to, I do recommend them!

Appreciate the comments Jon and realised it wasn't a personal attack on us! I was just concerned that we'd rather been implicated as "not giving a shit!"

Have a good weekend, hopefully with the Griff!

If you're referring to me, absolutely not. I'm glad Stuart has put his side across.

My post was a genuine one as I'd been well pi$$ed off.

I think anybody in my situation would be equally pissed off. I need the car for Saturday.

If all had gone to plan, I was to pick the springs up today and drop them off at Stoke tonight for them to be fitted tomorrow, ready for collection tomorrow night.

As it is now, I simply wont have time to collect from Wigan tomorrow, then drive to Stoke, then back to Manchester to work.

The result is, its costing me another £60 to get the Stoke guy to get the bits for me tomorrow so my car will be ready in time.

I ain't embarrassed to tell anybody that!
