Can anyone tell me approx cost for a full tank of (performance) fuel?

And what sort of MPG you get with mixed driving?

Thanks a lot in advance.

I get an average of about 22-23 mpg in my (Gen 1 C2S manual).

Can't remember how much it costs to fill up. Only use Vpower though.

Quick google shows 64litre tank.

So 64 x cost of vpower per litre = £?

(don't get one if you're worried about being able to afford the fuel....)

Thanks mate.

Actually I was thinking about getting a Masser Gransport, I'm trying to 'logically' talk myself out of it on this being more sensible and cost effective with high fuel prices. biggrin

Don't worry about the high fuel prices on a Masser, worry about the depreciation! yikes

Not true I'm afraid. I Just sold my mates 07' Gransport for him and it was fairly depreciation proof. Only lost 2.5k in a year. Buy a later model 997 and you'll kiss goodbye to more. Quite different cars though, test drive both would be my advice and if you go for the Masser have it properly inspected. Also the masser does like a drink!

about the same as me , 22-23MPG on a mixed commute... costs about £70 for the tank at the mo with Super.

on a 75-80lepton run it'll do 28-29... as soon as you get into some stop start work it was fall rapidily though, its disapointingly bad in traffic.. 15-16mpg

if you drive like miss daisy at 60 on the motorway you'll get 32 smile

this is for a gen 1, i assume a gen 2 is much better? though i've not seen any owners post anything... i had a gen 2 cayman s and on my same commute driven the same it did 29 rather than 23 so a decent improvement (obviously a 3.4 though)

Blimey! that's slightly better than my 1998 E36 2.5.

Have a gen2 c2s.

I average approx 20 mpg - mostly urban stop/start.

Went for an early morning blast last weekend and averaged 13mpg over approx 30 (spirited) miles.

Drove Hertfordshire to Brighton and back recently - steady 80ish most of the way. Averaged 31 mpg.

Get approx 250-300 miles per tank depending on usage.

I've seen a low mileage full service history masser for £25k (06 model) a fully loaded last of the line one is still only around £30-35k, I think the large part of the deprecation has been done. Its more practical on one hand with rear useable seats and a boot. But I had read various reports of the thirst and of course, whilst most of the reports of reliability are a bit over the top. A porsche does seem a bit more sensible on all other factors I'm basing my decision on.

Thanks for posts!

I'm considering a 997.1 C2s. I think the fuel consumption and likely hood of major techincal issues are better than a masser.

Totally different car again but i do have a soft sport for Cayman S, but would need to get an LSD and some power increases for my liking and prefer not to mod up cars if poss.

I get 24mpg from mixed use in my C2S Gen 1, and will back up what others say about m'way, tootling and blasting. I do have a shopping trolley as well now, but it was still 22mpg before I got the oil burner.

From what I can make out, a 911's thirst is lighter than just about anything else that you might think about, be that Massers, Astons, Jags, or on another level, M-cars, RS Audi's etc. It's an uninformed opinion, but 6 cyls just use less than 8. My old 330Ci (28-30mpg) was another example of better than you would think consumption.

agree with that, my z4m coupe was at least 20% less thirsty that the C2S pretty much all the time.. i even saw it do high 30's on a long enough run.. amazing! bloody hard suspension though wink

I looked at them before got the porsche, Mazzers will struggle to get 20mpg, however it was the servicing that put me off as its in the Ferrari league. clutches and cam belts featured heavily...but must admit that the ferrari V8 did sound great!

Do what I do use a fiesta diesel for work and the 911 for special days, weekends etc!! It is cheaper to run two cars in this way.
