Name me the best 47 to 50 (PREFERABLY 50 INCH TV) on offer for under 2300 with 3d and 2d upscaling and ideally 2 pairs of 3d specs and led backlit, not afriend of plasma because off when they first came out and plasma balls were an issue. Also recent viewing shows led lcd tv as brighter more suiting my viewing Viewing ditance for 2 up to 5 metres for the best suited telly and up to 55 in budget. Thanks in advance. Excuse the non pistonheads spelling and grammar, spell and grammar check not working.

Chris - this is a Plasma is king forum, so you're not going to get any response other than Panasonic VT20, which is THE best TV currently available for 3D and 2D.
We've covered this in recent times, so have a search and a read through the threads - if you're still not having it, then take your pick with whichever LCD brand that floats your boat.
Most of us don't give LCD the time of day since it sucks compared to Plasma.
If it didn't, there'd be recommendations galore.

LED / LCD are rubbish in comparison, and you'll be spending good money on inferior appliances. Your call of course but as a recent convert to plasma having replaced 3 LCDs, I really can't say anything other than go for a plasma!

To expand on that a little, I've recently bought a Panasonic TX42G20B, a Panasonic TX50G20B and a Panasonic 50VT25 3DTV. All Plasmas, all Panasonics. I've heard and read enough advice from people in the know both on here and offline, and read enough good reviews to know I picked the right ones - trust me when I say I researched EVERY alternative in my price range, and looked at a hell of a lot of TVs! Not purchases I took lightly at all.

I've had a couple of people tell me LED is the future - I don't doubt it, but at the minute it's a mile off, and the current LED's look nowhere near as good as Panasonic's panels to my eyes. The Samsung LED I saw looked decent enough, but lacking in depth and colour quality compared to the Plasma. The whites look marginally better, but everything else looks like it has a white hue to it, slightly washed out almost. I will say in their favour however they're incredibly slim things!

I really can't recommend the Panasonic VT25 series highly enough. They're stunning to look at. 2D stuff looks as good if not better than the G20s (which themselves are very hard to beat IMO). The 3D stuff I've not actually watched a lot of, but the glasses are good, and from what I have watched it's superb. I've yet to see anything which compares really. If you prefer something else, of course go for that, but I really can't see why anyone would if they saw fair side by side comparisons of a Panny plasma and anything else.

If you want LED (sorry LCD/LED) then the best I've seen is the 52in Sony KDL52HX903 - This has full panel LED lighting, it's also available in 47in size but apparently there is very little stock about.

I'd avoid all 3D TVs for at least another year. The technology is new which inherently means there'll be an exponential improvement in quality/features over the next 12 months. Anything 3D bought today will very quickly become a dinosaur. 3D technology that works without the use of crappy 3D glasses has already been demonstrated, although still in its infancy but that is the future.
