Hello, this is a quick question to anybody out there who runs or cycles etc.

I am starting to train for a half marathon, and also want to get fitter for cycling too. I have a programme thing off a website for training every other day. The question is that having done 5k on saturday I am still pretty achey today, so if I do a shorter harder run tonight am I doing any good, or should you wait until tomorrow, which with a two full days rest.

I usually find that I feel okay the following day after a big run or cycle or gym session, it's two days later that getting outta bed can hurt a bit.

Any advice?

DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness).

It depends how seriously you're training. You can either leave it an extra day or just ignore it and train through. It might suggest your warm-down after a run/ride could be better though. You should find that the soreness eases off quite quickly when you start warming up for your next session.
