Morning Chaps,

Currently playing in goal for a local Saturday team.
We train indoors so i have a cheapy set of Nike gloves for training purposes.
I have a pair of Sells GK gloves, they're fantastic quality, but i'm finding the grip isn't too great on them.
I don't really want to spend more than £30-£40 is there any recommmendations on a good set of gloves.
Finger Save, Wrap, cut etc all considered.
Cheers

I have a pair of Nike gloves with finger save type technology in them - can't recall the name, but they seem at least as good as the adidas fingersaves I used to have, and should be in your price range.

Personally for playing indors I never wore gloves as you lose the feel of the ball.
Outside in the wet then that's a different story.

when playing indoors I rarely used gloves, only once or twice did i get stung by a really hard shot. i actually found the best thing was a pair of the old school wollen gloves with the rubber pimples on as they were awesome on the floor of the gym and when you were down on the ground you could get a lot of grip to get back off your feet or crawl around the area in an undignified manner....

try somewhere like www.prodirectsoccer.com for the proper things or your local high street sports shop for the rest....

Try this site it's run by Mark Mason, recently appointed as head of the GK academy at Pompey.

For indoor use only, when shot stopping is more important than feel I'd probably suggest a fingersave design, there's some out there now that you can insert/take out the spines as required.
Sorry just re-read that you are looking for grip for out door use. Do you wet your existing gloves 15 mins or so before? In any case something like these http://www.progoalkeeper.com/selsport-wrappa-xtr-2... do it.

The best gloves for indoor "furry" footballs are the old fashioned cheap rubber dimpled ones. Latex palms just aren't designed to work with them.

Latex palms, Fingersave technology ??

Never knew there was so much to it. Progress I suppose. How good a glove do you need to pick the fker out of the net? hehe

I used to have some of these green cotton ones that got wet in one minute ala Alan Partrid ... sorry, Peter Bonetti in about 1971-ish - I was only 9 though.

Small world you posting that. A friend who is high up at Google had lunch with Mr Bonetti and others recently at Stamford Bridge. Friend happened to mentioned my son is training with a club and he promptly went to the club shop, came back with a ball and signed it "To Ben,A future England keeper, from Peter Bonetti". A nice bloke by all accounts.
As for the green cottons, great in the mud, not too bad in the wet, but it was discard and spit on the hands time in the dry!
