Apparently, it's the blue ones that will be highly sought after in the future

But in all honesty, if fuel prices go up much more, we wouldn't be able to drive the cars to the museum anyway!

It was in the Sunday Times car supplement, 'In Gear'. Can't post a link as the Times is now subscription only.

They were recommending cars that will appreciate in value giving their 2010 price and price today. Ferrari f40, 550, Porsche 911 GT3, Lotus Elise Mk1, BMW M3 CSL, Sierra Cosworth were all listed and the Griff!

Griff right up as follows.

TVR Griffith
Price in 2010. £15,000
Price now. £17,000
Increase. 13%

Fernhurst TVR in Surrey says late Griffiths sell for about £17K, while SE Limited edition fetch up to £32K (they were £24K a year ago) Don't expect price falls.

2011 advice. Hold.

The VAT rise makes them an even better buy in relative terms. That £40k Boxster will now set you back £41k. All adds up and merely highlights what good value TVRs now represent.

I have absolutely no intention of selling this year or in the future, however its always nice to know that our cars are viewed as desirable and appreciating in value.
Maybe in 30 years time when I can no longer get in or out of it, we may all be posting about "I remember the days when you could get a Griff for under £60k !!"

Joking aside, I think these cars will reach in excess of that type of figure one day.

by my calculation...a 17K car appreciating at 13% PA would reach £60K in just over 10 years

though with inflation at an average of 3% PA that £60k will "only" be worth around £48K in real terms.

I intend to keep mine... though what the petrol price will be in 10 years time is anyone's guess.
