battery ?charging fault or battery drain?

hi guys got into my sag after it completly draining the batery overnight after me using it yesterday i have got the battery on charge but have the feeling it is being drained of power somewhere is there anything i can check connections fuses etc as i had the battery on charge for an hour or so car started but low volt charge started at 11.1 and just kept droping after having tha car running for probably less than a minute switched of engine and battery flat again im supposed to be going to the piston heads show sat in the car with my daughter looking like i wont be able to take it now if anyone has any ideas please let me know as my daughter is gutted thanks sean

IMO Alternator fault.

right just been down and checked alternator was cold turn of battery charger and started car code 8 come up straight away and volts are at 11.8 after leaving engine on tickover for between 3-5 mins volts have steadily droped down to 10.8 turned of engine went to restart and no go battery to flat is there a fuse i did check the fuse under airbox which has been replaced by somebody in the past for the 125amp how can i tell that fuse is okay or am wasting my time and it is the alternator if so what part inside the alternator fails which then causes this thanks again sean

Sounds like the alternator is not charging. The AA or similar can check this with a clamp on ammeter. I guess it could be a poor earth if the alternator is OK. I think it earths on the chassis below where the alternator mounts. As for the fuse inspect it for cracks/corrosion and the terminals. If it looks OK then it should be fine. The fuses are cheap (about £1) so you could just change it anyway)
