42G10 freesat signal
Discussion
Hi, I bought my 42G10 last year having read the reviews on here.
It's been faultless and I've always run through a sky+ box. However this evening the skybox is dead, no lights at all, so I connected one of the sat feed wires to the back of the TV but I can't get it to find a signal. I've run auto set up, checked for a signal in the TV menu, checked the wire connection.
Help! The kids aren't happy and I can't find the instruction book. No doubt the OH has filed it in some completely illogical hiding place and she's out for the evening.

A quick look on the Panasonic website, support page finds a connection diagram for txp42g10b but there are no satellite connections. Your TV may be a different model though. It's been faultless and I've always run through a sky+ box. Edited to add: Downloaded the manual which does show a dish connector. Download the manual (3.5MB) and store on your computer.

How long is the copper wire protruding from the end of the connector? When you plug it in can you feel it make contact just before the rest of the plug connects? A couple of mm may have broken off.
Have a look at satcure where there is a simple diy to fitting a connector complete with video.

Thanks for your replies. I'm hoping to pick up a new Amstrad HD box tomorrow and will get a LNB at the same time just in case.
If that works OK I'll try claiming on the warranty. Would Pany leave me without a TV? I bought it from John Lewis so have the 5 year warranty.
Meanwhile I connected my Bluray to my router so I can at least watch Youtube. Pleased that at least something works

So if I plugged an F-connector lead from my G20 into a 'Sat' conenction point, assuming all else is connected should I be getting pictures?
Mine says it can't find Astra satellite....
I live in a block of 8 flats, so I don't know if the connection to the dish is good....or actually if the lead is ok...
