Buying a helmet near Loughborough (Leicestershire)?

I leave in the Netherlands, and will be in the UK (Loughborough)in 2 weeks for a day. I'm looking for a shop nearby where there is a good supply of car helmets (ARAI BELL etc..) to try and hopefully buy one. I can't go very far since I am flying back the same evening. Anybody knows a place I could/should try?

There aren't many suitable shops round here I'm afraid. Your best bet is probably GPR down at Silverstone, about an hour down the M1/A43 by car.

If you are considering a V2 Sport then you're welcome to try mine (size large/60cm) but it sounds like you're after something a bit more high-end than that!

Enjoy your visit to sunny Leicestershire, anyway. Even if you can't find a helmet you should still be able to get hold of a good pork pie so it's definitely worth the trip.

Thanks for the tip, I have about 3 1/2 hours free, so if nothing else turns up, I may try it. I did not realise Silverstone was so near...

You'll need to get your foot down a bit in that case, but if you've got nothing else to do then it's worth a go.

Tom, what about Twiggers on Nottingham Rd or Arnolds on Leicester Rd?
Both sell motorbikes so should have helmets???

Hi Steve. Yes, they'll have helmets but they'll only have bike helmets and it sounds like the OP is specifically after a car helmet. I'm sure bike helmets are widely available in the Netherlands!

Thanks for the answers guys, there are indeed some places in Holland where helmets can be bought, the problem is that most don't have much stock and you must order with no guarantee that the size will fit properly. Anyway I thought that since I was in the UK (daughter visiting UNI) and I have some free time...I will still go to Silverstone and also have a peep at the circuit.
