the car was for sale on ebay, I stuck with 500 pounds, a friend of mine went to see it, but had many problems and the guy stole my money .... beware!

Dont be put off by the Cat Ds just go in with your eyes open, Get the car checked over at a TVR garage they will do a 50 point check on the car for about £200,
The seller should be willing to do this at your expense, If all is well then you will get a car for a lot less than a streight one,

I have a 05 I am buying with 8000 miles on the clock, front end damage only, Front offside suspension damage, Once sorted it be be a great car for less than half price of a streight one,

Have to agree on the CAT D, mine was such a vehicle and came back from front and rear impact damage. Only difference with mine was I bought from the guy who did all the repair work, SP Automotive, and had a whole heap of history on the car (4 litre upgrade, Power chip with sports back box, new clutch etc.). Did still need a lot of detail work to finish but it has resulted in a car put together as well as any factory car, allowing a couple of subtle changes to make it that bit different with a 16k price tag.
Go in with eyes wide open and with gut instinct. Would do it again no problem.

It's really useful to have such a good knowledge base to help avoid potential bad buys.
Does any one have any ideas about the RHD T350 for sale through PISTONHEADS that's located in Holland? The photo's show cables hanging down by the pedals and a missing stereo?

The one in Holland has been discussed on here a few times as has the dealer. Been for sale a LONG time and nothing positive has ever been said about it, very untidy, untrustworthy dealer and little or no history - all this is hearsay from other though and I have no personal experience of this.I actually saw the car on Autotrader myself and thought it looked too good to be true!

Just remember that if a car (let alone a TVR) is considered cheap there is often a good reason.

Cheers JR, unfortunately I have just put the black spiders back on for a change and really cant decide which I prefer. Only issue with the 19" rims is you have to run the rear spring rock hard due to rear arch clearance of the 10" width, despite the geo change instructed by TVR Power.

In my experience these cars can be as expensive as you want them to be, the real spend on mine was a full internal re-fit - 3.5k, brake upgrade 1.5k, 19" wheels and tyres another grand, the rest of the detail work was no more than a grand on the 16k I paid for it.
One thing worth a packet was the engine service and upgrade history, this is where the big essential money can disappear with rebuilds fetching big money.
Ownership is Passion with these cars, the risk is how deep are your pockets and how big your circle of TVR friends. Everything can be repaired/replaced.
If you had seen car pre rebuild you would have struggled to recognise it. All fiberglass and paint, but a mess all the same. SP have a load of pics during re build that I will post if I can get to see Ryan sometime soon. Had the geo done by 3 different people who report it 100% straight, which something many of the factory cars can't claim without work.
