Disaster for BPM Racing
Discussion
Front running Britcar Production team BPM Racing suffered a major setback at the weekend, when a serious fire ravaged the industrial complex on the outskirts of Northampton that the team uses as a base. Owen Thomas and Ashley Woodman had spent half of last season getting to grips with their new Seat Leon, but now their participation in the new Dunlop GTN Production Championship is in jeopardy.
“It's devastating really, the whole complex that includes our unit was completely destroyed. The Fire Brigade are investigating, but asbestos is causing problems with site access. We've lost the lot - car, trailer, lorry, all the kit/spares/tools etc. We're talking to the insurers at the moment, but the start of the season, or indeed any of this season is looking rather iffy to say the least” reported Owen Thomas, adding “It was a major fire, with around a dozen fire engines on the scene”.

I know the team members well and know how devastated they all are by the fire. Two of the team's mechanics lost their 200SX road cars in the blaze too, such was the ferocity of it that they didn't have time to get them moved.
Fingers crossed for all at BPM - knowing the tenacity of these guys, I'm certain they'll be back!
