Start route is:
Part 1: Glasgow to Calais – 820 km- estimated duration 20 hrs 39 minutes.
On Thursday 27th January, 2011, the first car will leave Blythswood Square, Glasgow, at 6.30pm with all other cars following at one minute intervals.
The route will then take the drivers through the night to Dover.
From Glasgow, the cars will travel 35km to Kilmarnock on the A77.
From Kilmarnock, it’s 90km to Dumfries on the A76.
From Dumfries, the cars drive 89km to Penrith taking the A75/ A7/M6 and A6.
From Penrith, the cars head on 80km to Scotch Corner (North Yorkshire) taking the A66.
From Scotch Corner, the cars will travel 140 km to Barnby Moor (Nottinghamshire) on the A1 and diversions via the old A1 (now A168).
From Barnby Moor, it is 243 km to Waltham Abbey (Essex), using the A1/ A14/ M11/ M25.
From Waltham Abbey it is 43km to Dartford via M25.
From Dartford, it is a final 105km to Dover/Folkestone on the A282/ A2/ M2/ A2.
