My sister in law's car had the n/s beam out on her 58 Micra, so I got a price from the local Nissan garage and then popped into Halfords St Andrews Quay Hull (passing by anyway) to see how much a bulb was.

Saw an offer on the shalf, £8 bulb only or £12.50 fitted, which saved me scuffed knuckles (versus £20 from the Nissan garage), knowing the Micra's engine bay is smallish.

Thought we'd give it a go for the extra. Young lady comes out, asks what car is it, then groans and says "I know why you want it doing". Anyway, 5 minutes later and she's changed it, tested park, low & high beams and we're paid and on our way!

Great service and a very good price IMO.

Come for a run out with us & I can show you. More fun doing driving than writing about it! It's certainly feels adequate, for now.

I guess every chain must have one or two branches which give a good service wink

My local one never has anyone in the vicinity of the till - I seem to have to go find someone to take my money.

On my last visit I actually went to find someone who 'worked' there and asked if payment was optional.....

The Wakefield one never has anyone near the till either, they must lose a fortune in pissed off punters and stolen stuff.

My mate's daughter changes bulbs for folk at the Bescott store, Walsall, west mids.

I have no idea what hours she works, but I can tell you all that she's 18, slim, blonde, and about 6 foot tall. yes
