I was driving through Loughton when i spotted a mobile speed camera (you know the ones, little black box with man sitting in van).

Well i was under the impression that the van, and camera had to be visable to drivers. You know big Florescent strips down the back etc. Well Apprently not!

The van was parked in the side street out of view with the camera hidden by a post box on the corner.

Now i am an and never speed , but dont you think this is a bit naughty??

Does anyone know wether the law is that they have to be visable? Even if not, i dont think that this particualr one was playing by the rules....do you?

On the recent Basingstoke meet, 14th April, we drove past a similar setup. It appears the police / government explain one tactic to the press but in reality... well you can guess the rest.

The DVLA are using similar technology to catch Road Tax dodgers, so it may of been them.

On the M4 at Port Talbot one lurks in an alley up the hill in the 50 zone. Around jcn 41. You won't dee him going eastwards and can only just spot him westwards.

Oh, I forgot, we drive powerful motors and deserve to be caught doing 100 in a 70 on a clear road. Sounds a bit dodgy to me, I'll use my kids to traffic drugs instead. Cynical but how true?????

At the end of the day it's just another stealth tax isn't it. Yet another vast source of income for the government to waste keeping the DHS class and asylum seekers in fags and lager.

Plain white van on the Bridge over the M6 just North of the Manchester Ship Canal last week - that had a laser trap in it. Dont forget the Nort Hants "Safety Camera" Plague, they are not exactly obvious either althjough at least you can get a clue where they are from the North Hants POlice website which is a bit more sporting.

If you see one of these tax collectors, go back and get a photo, then send it into The Sun or some paper that will not only pay you to take your story, but they will continue to expose the harassment faced by the generally Law abiding motorist by HMG.

Tuesdays daily mail had a letter from a cop which really did prove how out of touch they are now.. I have submitted a reply which I'm sure won't get published

I don't think mobile cameras are covered by the same rules as fixed ones. You can find out loads more info and this and more at www.abd.org.uk It's well worth joining to find out what's really going on and the nutters who are messing up our roads and cities.
