I had my alloy wheels refurbished a while ago and have kept them mint, apart from the damage done by the last tyre fitters to all four wheels, despite them saying they wouldn't damage them.

This time I need two new tyres as mine are a tad worn after track days etc but I am very anxious for the wheels not to be damaged again by the same kind of oafs from the last time (despite standing there for ten minutes showing them the mintness of the wheels explaining why I don't want them damaged, then repeating it all over again when I was met with simple blank stares, the drooling being the only sign of them actually being alive).

So, any help or recommendations from my fellow PH'rs down my way? All I want is a tyre fitter that wont damage them any further.

Cheers!

I have used Flintstone tyres in Shirley quite a few times. They are a bit cheap and backstreet but very good service.

I'm sure if you told them why you wnat the alloys taken care of they would of course listen.

Micheldever Tyres possibly? Not close to Southampton but always Porsches, BMWs etc there plus pretty sure that's where local BMW dealer goes to for new tyres so I guess that rimwise they may be ok. Pro-tyre at Eastleigh are related to them I believe, maybe another possibility.

Abbey tyres in Bishops Waltham - use a rubber or hard plastic attachment and I have never had a hint of a scuff or damage.

I always use tyreland, on the estate next to leisure world in Southampton. They've never so much as scuffed any of my alloys thumbup.

Another vote for both Tyreland in Southampton. Very friendly service, always happy to try and price match or better a quote. I've not had any wheel damage from them.

Can also recommend Micheldever/Protyre who are the same company i believe.

Ok cool thanks. Tyreland is only a stones hop away from where I work so I may pop along there after my usual speech about my precious diamond cut rims!

Turnpike Tyres Fareham are very good, especially for large low profile tyres.

Flintstone Tyres in Shirley + 1. They were excellent with my refurbed rims.
