We recently decided to jump on board with this company with our 458, which is on display January 17-23rd at Barrett Jackson. Given all the negative sentiment towards supercars from some people these days I thought you might all be interested in the idea....

Controlled Carbon’s ENV® or Environmentally Neutral Vehicle product (www.goENV.com) completely offsets the carbon emissions of any vehicle, from manufacture to retirement. They invest in carbon offset projects including hydroelectric plants, windmill farms and technology companies which help to solve the problem long-term by positively impacting the environment and reducing our carbon footprint.

No formal affiliation with them other than lending them the car... smile

Do they give you back any of the profits they make from the power stations, or is a free way for them to gain access to working capital.

Carbon emissions are a lie. Don't be sucked in by the bullst, there is no global climate change problem.

I'm more worried by the amount of st we dump into rivers and bury in the ground (which won't disappear for hundreds of years).

I think it is naive to think that having deforested a large part of the world that this isn't or won't affect our climate. Having said that, the car is not by any stretch the worst offender.

Having said that - we will have far more serious and urgent problems relating to finite resources before climate change reaches catastrophic proportions imho. To mock what you don't understand would seem disingenious tbh.

I'd like a website where I could put the make, model, mileage and number of cars in and it would tell me how many polar bears I've killed and how many chav's and their sprogs I've supported.

I could then offset it by choosing to feed the sprogs to the polar bears? Is that how offsetting works?
If there is such a scheme... Where do I sign up!

What has deforestation got to do with carbon offsetting?

The organisation responsible for the CO2 MMCC/AGW piffle, the IPCC, has now stated that there is NO visible signal attributable to anthropogenic CO2 in the global climate data.

The real environmental problems are being sidelined because of the media and those with a vested interest's infatuation with the CO2 fairytale ...

Stuart - above is right.

No such thing as Global warming - last ice age was 10k years ago and we are constantly going in and out of them in a time cycle of about that (10k). Just thatman has been around so very little time and been monitoring this crap for so long and getting all het up about it!!

Trust me - 2 Geology Degrees ain't wrong smile

I'm sure I saw a green 458 on PH recently....

That's the perfect colour for a Ferrari - like those green 456 Shooting break cars made for the Royal family.

While we're still slightly on the topic what are the thoughts on whether petrol or oil more accurately is not a fossil fuel and therefore not about to run out in 50 years time? The reason I ask is because oil deposits don't appear to make sense as some deposits are too deep to be fossilized plants or animals etc meaning that I would expect a normal deposit to only be a a few to tens of metres deep. Or have I missed something somewhere?

I work in the oil industry and I can tell you for sure it's not going to run out in 50 years.

Complete and utter tosh! Global warming IS a fact, but little understood by anyone. There are natural cycles which are evident from natural history, but they do not show damage caused in our atmosphere which is only just beginning to be understood. Two Geology degrees are just two pieces of paper. Nothing more, nothing less. No matter how much we like cars, fast cars, loud cars, big cars or small cars there is no doubt whatsoever that this pursuit is causing damage which has far greater implications than we currently understand fully.
An ice age, which has very specific terms, is not what was experienced 10,000 years ago at all, in fact (and this is a fact) the last Ice Age was 2 and a half million years ago.
By all means we carry on with our likes and hobbies, but lets not distort facts which we edit to suit ourselves.
Give people genuine options, if someone wants to look at ruining (in my humble opinion) a Ferrari by changing the whole idea of it and making it run on lettuce (sillified example) then let them, but at least have the decency to apply a real argument, and not a small bit of fiction.

That's superb.

What I love about Monckton's approach is that he tells people not to believe what he's telling them, but to go and check it for themselves.

It's almost unbelievable that the 'climate change' lies are still being propagated and taken as truth by so many people; worse still that we are being taxed on a lie!
