Having recently been working under my recently aquired Chim, I noticed the battery box bolts were missing.
Can anybody tell me the size of bolt I need to replace?

They are M8 on mine (13mm spanner size) and probably about 40mm long ?

You'll need some nice big "penny" washers and I prefer self locking nuts, that way you don't have to do them up stupid tight to stop them coming loose.

Where are you putting the self locking nuts then ? My nuts (oh !) are bonded into the battery box.

No nuts in my box !

Bolts go through box and nuts are under floor pan, and yes, you do need very long arms to do them up .

On this note. Has anyone found a good way to re-bolt the battery box in place. I did not mark where the battery box was before removal.....

There must be an easier way than trial and error ?

Thanks

Fortunately I marked mine with pen and tape which made it easy the 1st few times... unfortunately the last time I put it back (i have had it out about 4 times recently) the tape came off when i slid the box back and the line I had drawn was a bit hard to see and the bolts were not quite lined up properly so I lay under the car while my assistant moved the box forwards/backwards, side to side slightly and i felt with my finger where the hole was.

If you had the car jacked up you would be able to see it i guess.

Just push it as far back as it will go and work your way forwards i guess... also, remember the battery box is basically just further back than the length of the carpet mat in the footwell so just slide back to just past the end of the carpet.
