Hi all,
Helped needed please. Had a discussion with my Financial Director today about the Co2 on my company car as we need to tell HMRC. When i joined i opted to go for a 318d M Sport because of the low tax, 119CO2, meaning just 13% tax. My FD today told me the the registration document states 123CO2 which puts it at 18%.

The car is a 2009/09. So i assumed it was the (08 onwards) model. The CO2 of 123 suggests that it is the (05 onwards) model. I have spoken to BMW head office and he has said that according to the chassis number it is coming up as 123CO2 but he thought it was 119 too. After a bit of digging he suggested it was 119.

I also spoke to my friend who works for a BMW main dealer, he put the registration into the computer and it has a build week in May 2009, surely this confirms it is an 08 model and not an 05 model????

I need to confirm if i have an 08 model, the lights are slightly different on the rear compared to an 07 reg we have on the fleet. Is there anything else that would suggest an 08 model.

If it is an 08 model i am going to see if i can get the reg document changed so as to reduce the benefit in kind.

Any help you guys can offer i would appreciate it.

Thanks
D

I've just looked it up on the VCA and BMW press sites - I'm afraid 123 g/km is correct for a 2009CY car. This figure was achieved by both EU4 and EU5 spec cars prior to early last year. 119g/km refers to the latest cars following the revisions made at the time of the coupe facelift - March 2010 onward production. The early cars with the M47 engines are 150 g/km, but the 3-Series got new N47 I4 diesel engines with the "Efficient Dynamics" kit in late 2007, before the mid-2008 facelift. The early cars are 122PS, but since the late 07 engine change the 318d has remained 143PS across all the spec. changes since then.
