1996 164 24v Super

Does anyone know if the 164 3.0 24V Super (not "Super Lusso") had aircon fitted? I phoned up someone selling one and he said it didn't but I'd have thought it would have been standard on a car that expensive when it came out! I'm wondering if it has climate control and he just doesn't know...
