Starting Problem
Discussion
Hi All
I would like some advice if possible, I have just gone to start my Noble after being off the road over winter and noticed like an idiot I hadnt turned on the trickle charger. The battery was completely flat and even the interior light would not work. I charged the battery for a couple of days and the car is turning over nicely but will not start. No smell of fuel getting to the engine at all.
I thought that it may be the fuel pump but I would of thought even with a broken pump there would be at least some induction to at least smell the fuel.
My query is if the battery has gone so flat would the engine management system cut the fuel like in a crash? If so how do I reset it?
Thanking you in advance
Phil

Got it going again Phil? If pump is priming and you have a spark, it must be a blockage somewhere. Main suspect would be the filter. Remember to change it rather than swill it round in a bit of petrol and put it back. The crud will be on the inside of the filter (which you can't see). It's unlikely that there will be a blockage upstream of the filter.
As an after thought where did you get your last tank of fuel? If it was some crappy supermarket stuff it may be you have water in there as well, which unfortunately isn't very combustible.
