i'm slumming it a bit today, boiling up a massive wok type thing full of chicken sooper nodles and just throwing extra chicken stock in, bit of chili powder etc. it's one of the cheapie meals i still enjoy along with stuff like mature cheese and heinz spaghetti on toast, fish finger sarnies with vinegar and so on.

apologies if this has been done, but perhaps a thread of meals that are a throwback to lazy, cheap but satisfying eating could be in order?

Cook a decent pot of pasta shapes, throw in a tin of tuna and a tin of chopped tomatoes. Pop in a baking dish, grate a big lump of cheddar over the top then 200deg until the cheese melts and colours.

i do one a bit like that still. grill or fry some bacon and cut it into little strips (scissors work ok). boil pasta shapes up, drain and apply a tin of heinz chcken soup (heated up of course). add bacon bits and stir.

Another tuna pasta bake fan here. Couple of tins of John West in sunflower oil. Pour the contents of both tins into a pan add some chopped onion and pepper, stir in a packet of those microwaveable pasta twirls then put into a dish grate some mature cheddar over the top and bake for about 15 mins.

Bit obvious but spag bol, mince, onions, green pepper, tin toms, packet of cheap tomato soup powder, and of course spag.

Or is that too ambitious and complicated for lazy student type recipes.

Batchelors pasta'n'sauce (sic) plus half a head of fresh broccoli and some strong Cheddar. Cut the broccoli smallish and boil it before you stick the pasta etc. in. lick

I tried the full english once, but mine fell to bits and it took ages to clean up after it. The best one I did was a slice of lasagne.

Sausages + 3 tins of beans (eg. butter, flageolet) + 1 tin tomatoes + random stuff (eg. various herbs, chilli powder, peppers) smile This goes really well with mash potato! It's really sausages, baked beans, and mash, but with a tiny bit more effort required.

mince, gravy and mash potato. plenty of steak seasoning and black pepper in the mince tho. really good winter one and brings memories of good school dinners back!
