Howdy all,

Getting wed in the afternoon on 5th March and was looking in to something interesting and PH'y to get me and the new trouble-n-strife from South Reading (Church) to Finchamstead (Reception) - its about 10 miles.

The cost of hiring anything fun blows our frugal budget somewhat (o/h just been made redundant and we are potentially looking at escaping the country for 6 months) but unfortunately she is refusing to squeeze her dress in to my Elise S1....pity as it would be a licence to spend a few days doing it up and polishing it!

I was considering asking the bloke I sold my Tuscan to if I can borrow it for the day but alas he is in Norfolk and of course a two seater means I cannot have a last drink as a 'free man'!!

Is anyone able to help? By choice it would be something sporty and 4 seats but would consider anything!

I would obviously offer some petrol/beer tokens.

Save me from my sensible solution of getting a prestige taxi....just doesn't feel very PH frown

.....bit embarrassed to scrounge like, sorry all......

1998 VW Passat 'Sport' Estate any good? In a fetching dark non-metallic green with 1800cc's of V5 madness under the bonnet...

Alternatively a V8 sound track courtesy of Milltek via a B5 RS6 Estate or a slightly more thrashy soundtrack from a 2009 Nissan GTR could also be options? wink

PS: these are not 'self drive' options. (although the Passat is, should that be a consideration...)

Cool, thanks for the offers - completely understand about the 'non-self driving' thing.

Going to spend some time ringing round attempting to pull in some favours this week but may well be sending a couple of pm's out soon!

Had a friend/acquaintance over helping me fix some bits on my E39 today who works for merc where they have an SLS.....I mentioned I was looking for a Wedding car but he did not 'bite' - pity!

hmmmm.....nice car - worth staying sober for!
