Hi gang,
I'm getting a thump from the rear of the cerb when at light throttle I lift off. Then it thumps again when the loud pedal is pushed down.
My first thoughts are diff bush!
Anyone agree or have another suggestion?
I have a service booked for the 13th May so if it is a diff bush do you think it'll be ok til then? Can I still drive her?

I had the same symptoms when my lambda sensors were playing up, made driving at 50mph in top a real bitch. If your having more trouble than usual at light throttle, then it should be that.
The laptop will show it up if it is...

Sounds like the Diff bush to me.
You should be OK driving it....just don't hammer it.

They're buggers to get at and replace if the bush has gone. About 4-5 hours labour if I remember rightly.
Bush is only about £20 though

Trooper, engine is running AOK. Just a thump when coming off or on the throttle. Feels like it takes up some slack!.

Bandit, 4-5 hours Do you think WH would cover this? Yer right (I will ask though).
Shouldn't be too hard not to hammer it for a few weeks. I do like to look after her! Only play now & then

Doubt WH will cover it...they'll say wear and tear cause its a bush. Worth giving it a go though??

Happens if the tank is low and I'm the only one in it so don't think it's that.

Thank all, and Russell

"Happens if the tank is low and I'm the only one in it so don't think it's that."

Is it the fuel pump and petrol tank? When low on fuel, you can get a vacumn in the tank, making the alu tank sides sucked in slightly, which then pop back into place, making a thumping noise. Putting petrol in makes it go away?

Just an update on the "thump from rear"
12k service today and check out rear (the cerbs).
Turned out to be just a loose diff mount bolt
All sorted now thanks to Castle TVR
