My New 550i M Sport
Discussion
Looks very nice - liking the light colour interior.
Once I have got the M3 out of my system, I will probably go back to a five series - but assuming the pockets are not deep enough for an M5, not sure if I would go for the 550i or a 535d.
Be interesting to hear how you get on with it.

Hiya,
I'm sure it's an absolutley fantastic car and must be an excellent drive and experience, just shy of M power!
For me, the car/F10 shape really does need larger wheels and a tad more of a lowered suspension to look more 'balanced'
there will of course, be divided opinion on that, but looking at some of the already high quality modified F10/F11's out there the whole look of the car is improved.
Remember to buy your local petrol pump attendants cards for their birthdays etc as of course you'll soon be on first name friendly terms with them
Cheers, Dennis!

I have a new X5 50i M Sport (not an M car and definitely not an X5 M), so I have the same engine as you, OP. I'm impressed by it. It really goes in DS mode, particularly in kick-down. It's not M5- quick, but for a big car it's impressive.
Hi Zod, the 550i engine in the 5 series with the weight only 1904Kg is very quick the 8 speed box helps.JMRS4 said:

Looks very nice indeed. It would be interesting to hear how you get on over the next few months of ownership.
Hats off for not going for the ubiquitous diesel.
Bearing in mind how few 550i's there are you probably have the most residual proof new car available!
Neil your right mate, I think it's going be quite unique as the fuel prices here are going mental.Hats off for not going for the ubiquitous diesel.

I will keep all you guys up to date with it's progress, it's so different to drive than the M3 E90 i just sold.

Me too.It never ceases to amaze me how many people seem to be under the impression that there's some kind of law that prohibits choosing anything other than black leather.
For every 20 AMV8s in the classifieds, around 19 of them will have wall-to-wall Obsidian Black hide. Maybe AM should rename it Uniquitous Black.
A little more imagination and...

The evidence would seem to suggest that people speccing new X5s suffer the same affliction.
Good work fella. When do you re-christen yourself JM550i ??
