Were intending to fly Virgin to Florida at Easter, but when we went to the Travel Agents at the weekend we found all flight sold out.

So, we're now going with Thomas Cook to Sandford.

Anyone any experiences of:
1) Thomas Cook Trans-Altlantic flight?
2) Sandford airport?
3) Which car to pick - currently booked a Full Size, but could easily be persuded by a 4x4.

Any advice gratefully received.

Regards,

1) Thomas cook will have more legroom in economy than Virgin. The cabin crew will be more attentive but much less attractive and generally fatter than Virgin cabin crew.

2) SFB airport is easy enough but it has far less shops and facilities and is farther away from Orlando than MCO.

3) No, sorry.

1. I flew TC to Orlando the first time I went. It was....acceptable, decent legroom. Flight was on time, staff were polite.
It was on a par with Virgin, who I find use old planes on the Orlando route - our 747 felt like it took over from the Ark.

2. Sanford airport is small. Very small. But perfectly useable. It is about another 30 mins or so north from MCO though.

3. Depends on which car company you're with and your uses for the car. If you're planning on doing a lot of miles and have a family, get a big 4x4. If not, get whatever they give.
