Hardly driven at all to be fair - he's only covered 1,600 miles in total and now he's selling it for £50,000.

Probably a good deal to be fair - considering it's hardly been used and I doubt he would have thrashed it too much. He does enough of that on the track after all. Although I guess that never stopped Hamilton.

Certainly a better deal than Beckham's matt black GT-R which sold for £136,000.

What's the deal with F1 drivers and their cars? Because they're walking sponsorship boards I wouldn't have thought he would have been allowed a Nissan.

I don't think Mclaren can really stop him driving any car he wants. It's not like the Man U football team can only get their insurance through Aon as that's who their shirt sponsors are.

As far as I know he used to have a Veyron and he currently has a Mercedes Clk Dtm amongst other cars he uses in the UK.

hehe

Also as said above mclaren can't really determine what cars there drivers drive in their spare time although I think most do have an issue with motorcycles......but then most filmstars/sports men and women are 'strongly' advised not to passenger or ride a motorcycle.

I'm amazed he needs to buy a car at all. Which manufacturer, with the possible exception of Bugatti, would say no if he asked to run something for a few months? I suppose just because one doesn't need to doesn't mean one doesn't want to.

If you had free choice of a free Merc, it would have to be this, surely?

Isn't there the infamous story that Kimi turned up to the McLaren factory in his Enzo(insert another Ferrari) and Ron was PROPERLY pissed?

I've heard this multiple times, not sure if true or not. Doesn't sound unlikely.

There are plenty of examples of employment contracts that specify things that a person can and can't do outside work. He mights not want to sign the contract but that's his choice.

As far as actors and motorcycles that is a fairly common term prohibiting them from riding a motorbike. The contract wouldn't stop them from riding one but if they fell off they may be liable for the cost of not filming while they have a broken leg.

High petrol prices must have forced him to sell. I heard he was considering converting the Veyron to LPG.

I was outbid on it at Coys Autosport Sale last week frown
It sold for £30475 with just 12000 miles on it after almost 6 years.
A little Honda S800 and VW Camper van thingy of his also recently sold at other sales. Perhaps he's on his uppers? wink

That's unlucky on the auction.

It's strange he's getting rid of the Honda and campervan - I thought they were the motors he would have kept as he's said in the past he's pretty fond of them.

Wonder what he's eyeing up now then. He can full fill his fantasy garage!
