Best day of the year and engine nearly run in so a quick blast today and the the Thames Valley run tomorrow!

New pistons, rods and rings, X-ray crack test, blueprint the whole lot then the removal of loads of extra metal from the head/inlet manifold (upto 5mm in some places to match). Finally ne hp carb.

Does feel a bit quicker!

Just back from a quick run around the quiet highways and byways of East Lothian to bed things in a bit and get used to the beast. Lovely day for it up here though with the sun so strong it behaved a lot like a greenhouse. Lots of attention from pedestrians and other road users...small boys and anyone in Porsches, Lotuses and Audi TTs had their eyes out on stalks!

Have to say I'm not sure I'll ever get used to driving an Ultima. Still shaking....need a drink now...

Probably going to Knockhill tomorrow to watch the real racing cars. Should be a good day for it.
