It's doing my head in, what was that 60/70s programme called that had people whizzing about in those great air boats(tea tray with a damn great V8 and prop on the back). I think the main character was a wildlife marshal or something, a sort of Daktari on reeds.

Same here. I know exactly which programme the OP is referring to.

Damned if I can remember the name of it though.

Cheers, just had a quick look on youtube and that must be it - can't remember the title or the bear though, just the airboats!!! My dad's Daimler Dart did induce my birth so it must be a V8 thing biggrin

I've got a feeling it was this. Wasn't Gentle Ben set up in the Rockies?

Was it that little known 60s/70s series featuring people whizzing about on V8-powered tea-trays.......Daktari on Reeds?

I vaguely remember a series in the 60s called "Lincoln Vale of the Everglades".

Gentle Ben was more a 70s programme - although it was also set in Florida and did feature airboats too.

I remmeber it too. This park ranger guy had a alumnium kind of flat bottomed and flat nosed boat with a big fan on the back, I have a feeling it could be Flipper like some others have mentioned.

I reckon it's the one I mentioned. A quick Google shows that "Everglades" was a show from 1961 with the main character being "Lincoln Vale". I( can still hear the theme tune - 50 years on.

Never seen airboats in the Florida keys which is where Flipper was based. They don't go so well on choppy water so I doubt any airboat filming would have taken place there.

It wasn't Gentle Ben, Flipper? Are you serious smile It wasn't Flipper. I can't say it wasn't called the Everglades but I don't think it was.

I can't remember what it was called either, but it might come to me later.
