if anyone is interested in this, seems that it is not uncommon for the increment wheel on the flywheel to spin out of place if the clutch is overheated badly, as this one had. Can't say I have come across this before, but as they say you learn something every day.

Hello, I have a problem with a Rio that starts but cuts out straight away, when you try and rev it the engine dies and sounds really flat. Got one fault code saying system lean. Giving symptoms of air leak in manifold or lack of fuel. All sensors seem ok though? If any sensors are disconnected it makes no difference to how the engine runs. Also cam belt timing seems ok. Any ideas on the thing?

Please state engine type, spec and number for the Rio in question. I would be scoping the crank & cam sensor for a phase shift profile. I would also be scoping the air mass or MAP sensor, depending on which the Rio uses for load sensing.
