Currently working on a 1981 280i Convertable and got a quick question on the indicators

When indicating the side markers (orange front and red rear) flash on during the indicators off cycle if that makes sense

I assume this is some form of earthing fault and not something TVR designed them to do?

Thanks in advance

You would normally expect them all to light at the same time wink

Almost sounds as though it's a hazard light glitch...

So even the red sidemarkers at the rear should flash? Surely this doesn;t comply with MOT regs

Doh! Er, no, they shouldn't. Can't get my head around an earthing fault that would nake that happen though. 'Far as I recall, the hazards/ indicator circuit wasn't as electronic as they are nowadays so if the lights are off, they're off. There shouldn't be any current flowing that could escape to any of the other lamps...

Can't be that complicated, there's hardly any wiring on a wedge!

Whenever I've encountered similar problems on 'older' cars it seemed to end up being a bad earth. smile
