... obviously, that's a large amount of money being asked for a car that was once declined a valuation by what was then the UK's only official Lamborghini dealer not long after the sale of the car.

As far as I was aware, then and now, that valuation was required for insurance valuation purposes and was declined due to ongoing repair matters remaining unresolved.

Also, as the then owner was a Lamborghini Club UK member, an insurance valuation request was also made of LCUK at that time. This valuation request was actually for slightly less than 25% of the price being asked for here.

Diablos of any sort have not increased in value by such an amount ... by which I mean, they haven't increased that much as yet!!

It seems that you have at long last recognized the SE30 as a Diablo!

A purple Jota has recently been sold in the USA. That too was for sale for quite some time. The price was changing constantly with the exchange rate, but it ranged from about £117K to £124K.

It seems that you have at long last recognized the SE30 as a very important version of the Diablo despite them not actually being Diablos really!

edited for increasingly irrelevant and very pedantic precision and further amusement blabla

... good news to hear that sale figure which is only marginally lower/higher than the amount asked for in the insurance valuation I mentioned earlier - all Diablos (and SE30s come to that wink) are long overdue an uplift in value in my 'umble opinion!!

as you wish ...

You'll note that at least I've stopped insisting that what I (and any properly informed observer / owner) knows to be the case as to the correct model designation for the cars Lamborghini built between 1992 and 2000 is adhered to or perhaps you were just looking for an argument, in which case please feel free to rage away ...

A sense of humour failure by someone was always pending in this exchange since it begins with some pretty dubious price positioning within the UK's Lamborghini market anyway - whether for this SE30 Jota or other Lamborghinis being sold via the same vendor ...

In any case, I was always advised, (by both the original importers and a few of those lucky enough to have ever driven one), that the full Jota spec. SE30s were almost undriveable in anything like regular use. Those less-than-glowing remarks again relate to the issues to do with the original main dealer's refusal to issue an insurance valuation for this car just a few months after the car was sold.

My memory of the SE30 Jota (not this one) was on the outside, standing 6 inches directly behind the exhausts as the car was rev'd in the workshop. There were two dark blue circles of unburnt fuel on the shins on my jeans.

What a noise! smile
