Driveshaft oil drip

Hi All,

I seem to have a drip of oil from where the drivers side driveshaft joins with the intermediate driveshaft.

I didn't think there was any oil there but I assume there is a way in which gearbox oil is fed to this union? I also assume there is an oil seal there?( If so where do I get replacement?)

I would leave this for a while but it is dripping on the exhaust and smells when the exhaust is hot.

Your correct there is no oil there, I would check the turbo above it for the source..

The only oil seals are where the driveshafts connect to the gearbox. Besides the turbo, you might want to check the CV joint boots for tears that would allow grease to fall on the exhaust.

I had a drip around there. Ended up being turbo oil drain or return pipe. Where it bends above the exhaust it seems to cook and fall apart. Even the heat sleeve over the pipe had taken it on mine. May be worth a look

Thanks for replies, I was clutching at straws as I had spent a good hour looking around the area in the cold trying to find a leak. I will replace oil return pipe on rear turbo and hope the leak disappears .
