and cdn.haymarket.com

Whats that all about

I installed google chrome to test and get this

The site is VERY slow and takes ages to do anything. But at work it seems fine.

I am with "plusnet"if that helps

Hi there smile

Can you see this image:

http://cdn.images.pistonheads.com/nimg/23043-newsl...

It's one from the front page you can't see. If you can see it then it may be a page reading script error.

Not sure how to go about fixing that!

You're on Windows 7 (it wasn't my idea :lol: ) 64bit using Firefox.

Java script maybe at fault. Not sure if your Win7 has a free XP (like a virtual machine) that you can download and it actually runs XP on a virtual machine. You could try to access the page from there!

Might be worth a try...

Hi Connor

I have received your email and have forwarded it to RacingPete.

Hopefully we can get it sorted, but it does seem like an issue at your end. That said, I'm sure Pete/ Will can assist in some way smile

It's something to do with your PC and my hunch is that it is your security software as we have had similar problems with McAfee before.

Have a look in your Sophos settings and see if there is a content blocker/ad blocker/something similar which might be causing it.

I'm afraid I'm pretty stumped, we haven't changed anything at this end, so all I can think is that it is down to something on your computers or at your ISP.

Sorry.

Your security software/firewall? Something, somewhere between us and you is blocking it. It's either your ISP or something on your computer. Do you have a second computer you can beg/borrow/steal to see if it works when connected to your internet connection?

Hi, think you sorted DNS smile But it didn't help! No worries there though.

Not seeing the image means the page script on the home page isn't to blame as the image is just TAGed here using it's full address

http://cdn.images.pistonheads.com/

This link above is the domain the images are from, clicking it should give you a page with:

Hello World

It probably won't show on your PC as it's blocked!

I think Mr Will's got a good point

It'll help prove one way or another what part of the link is at fault.

Sorry it's been a drag and the sugestions haven't worked - maybe even sombodies phone with wifi (must connect through router) could help!

Cheers for the responses so far

The site is taking ages to load it took 7 mins for me to login........

I have a laptop and a desktop and both have the same issue with the site

When i try and access the CDN site i get

The connection has timed out

The server at cdn.images.pistonheads.com is taking too long to respond.

* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.

* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

I am using firefox and checked the error console and it shows

There are loads of them but here is a couple i have copied

OK, so we've tried:

Other browsers
Other PCs
Checked the HOSTS file:
[*]RUN > %SystemRoot%\system32\notepad.exe "c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts"
[*]( Look for something like this - 127.0.0.1 cdn.images.pistonheads.com )

This I have found is only the error caused by the image request being blocked. It's very, very possibly not a fault of Firefox. As Chrome and IE have the same issue then the Block is external to all the Browsers.

Both PC and Laptop being Blocked would surgest that the Block is external to the computers or Firewalls installed - However, if a IP filter is used and both PC share the filter list then it's possible that it's this. A proxy wouldn't, I wouldn't have thought.

IP Filters such as PeerGardian or the like may have filtered the PH image site IP!

The only other cause for the block would be the router! I don't think a router has the ability to block sites!

Or the ISP!!!!

BROWSERS = OK
ROUTER = OK
PistonHeads = OK

I would try a Linux LiveCD. This would hopefully boot to an OS that has web access and you can test the page that way (like the virtual machine but less hassel smile )
