MATES SPONSORS ITV’S FORMULA WOMAN
Mates condoms, a leading player in the UK condom market, has agreed a sponsorship deal with the UK’s first ever all-female motor racing championship for an undisclosed six figure sum.
The new, innovative Mates Formula Woman Championship, which begins in May, introduces 16 novice female drivers to the traditionally male dominated sport and is likely to change the face of motor sport forever. The opening season promises to be a ground-breaking competition with 10 events taking place at race tracks around the country. The women are competing in the new Mazda RX-8
Mates Head of Marketing, Stephanie Surrey, said: ‘Sponsoring Formula Woman is a perfect fit for Mates. As a fun, exciting and challenging brand we believe this winning formula will reflect our values and the passions of our consumers.’
She continues: ‘This deal is part of our marketing strategy going forward and so we will be supporting the sponsorship with an extensive PR and marketing communications programme’
Former racing driver and tv presenter Vicki Butler-Henderson is expected to host Mates Formula Woman and the 16 contenders will remain a mystery until the start of the championship, which will be aired on ITV1 from May.
