Autocar by a mile. Less "shock horror expose", better quality, better photos

(ps its also published by the people whjo write this site, so anyone who says Auto express will be...eliminated...)

Bit bored of autocar at the moment - haven't seen Chris Harris doing anything in it for a while which is a great shame. James Ruppert is good though, I just like the idea that someone browses autotrader more than i do.

Cheers,
Rob

Autocar definitely (although I no longer subscribe).

As mentioned, Auto Express is a bit Daily Wail-esque.

Autocar easily. I wouldn't even bother to give auto express a quick flick through...

I was flicking through some old 'Motor' and 'Autocar' road test annuals the other day, they put the tests conducted today to shame, as do the super-comprehensive ones in Italian magazines like Quattruote. I picked a copy of Autocar Italia when it was launched, it was a tabloid rag in comparison and filled out with ste watch adverts and the like.

The accuracy and fact checking in Autocar has also gone way downhill in recent years, they just seem to regurgitate press releases these days.

Autocar isn't quite as good as it used to be, but it is still massively better than AutoExpress.

I got a cheap subscription to Auto Express years ago but cancelled it before Christmas when standards finally dropped to the level where I couldn't stand reading it any more.

As mentioned already it's just full of dodgy photoshops and really poor journalism that always starts with "and Auto Express were the first to drive it" even though it's one of the journalists from a sister magazine in Mongolia.

I'll be swapping to Autocar at some point but in the meantime I get my car news online.
