Remote locking and alarm failed

Howdo. Locked the 2009 X5 last night with the remote fob. Went to unlock it this morning and nothing. Tried the spare, still nothing. Anybody know if there is a simple reset method rather than arseing about taking it back to the dealer?

Have you tried moving the car to another location?

There may be something nearby interfering.

The alarm will go off if you open it with the key, but it will stop once you start the engine. I think.

Tried that - does not work at home nor does it work at the office. To the dealers, I think!
