Hi Bodo,
Good...I've passed some dosh to Stu so he can buy you a drink on our behalf to say thank you for your help on 'our project'
It's all under way.....to the specification you did.....

By the way....it wasn't drink that made Stu so red in the face....it was good old honest exertion.......

Driving...I hasten to add....

Can't help thinking that balaclava would be better the other way round.

Where have I seen that face before? -- Got it! Oh No! They've killed Kenny!

Thank you Podie.....
I do have piccies of the television screens showing team 2 blistering performance till the last knockings....but I haven't put those up

Most of the pics of the Mid Essex crew will be on our brand new website by the weekend.

My last knockings weren't that bad

Apparently I was 10 seconds off the front runner until I ended up being sandwiched into the tyre wall on the hairpin.

I did do the fastest final lap at 28.10 seconds.

My arms are still bldy aching.

Some interesting facts about the racing....
After 1/2 hour the gap between the top 3 teams was less than 2 seconds! with postions be as thus 4,2,3,1,8,5,6,7

After 1 hour team 3 took lead and opened up a lead of 32 seconds on team 2 in 2nd...positions were...3,2,8,1,4,5,6,7

After 1 and 1/2 hours things changed with team 2 taking over lead and just ahead of team 3 by 8 seconds...positions were....2,3,1,8,4,5,6,7

At 2 hours team 2 were still there ahead of 3 but now by 23 seconds! positions were...2,3,8,1,4,5,6,7...and only 3 laps or approx 90 secs seperated the top 3 teams!....

At 2 and 1/2 hours some blisteringly fast laps by Andrew Sutton for team 3, including the nights fastest lap of 26.85 seconds (only a mere second outside the track lap record!) ..put team 3 back in front and the gap was 1 lap (approx 28ish seconds).. positions going into the last 1/2 hour were...3,2,8,1,5,4,6,7

The last half hour saw team 3 lead go up and down as team 2 battled to take the lead, and im told at one stage the gap was a mere 10 seconds!...Final pitstops were taken by both teams and the last bit of the race commenced....with team 3 eventually beoming victorious by just 24 seconds...PHEW!!!!...all after 3 hours non stop racing. Final positions were...3,2,1,8,5,4,6,7.

A couple of facts...the final half hours racing saw lap times go down and speed go up!...average speed was 43 mph opposed to 38/39 mph earlier...Andrew Suttons lap time of 26.85 was almost a second quicker than anyone else.....(and i thought my lap time of 27.58 was quick)....Team 2 fastest lap was a 27.70, team 1 was 27.81, team 8 was 27.62, team 5 was 28.09, team 4 was 27.72, team 6 was 28.29..(the ladies team i must add! )...and team 7 27.90

Jigs - if you're not interested, don't bother reading it, but thanks for putting a negative slant on what was a fantastic evening where plenty of people had a great time and raised money for chairty.

In future, keep your acerbic comments to yourself.
