Hib is a good dropzone. Langar is also not too far from you (Nottingham).
I did mine in the UK, but it was mostly weather watching. Took 2 weeks, instead of 2 days to get through 7 levels. I went to Empuriabrava and finished off the consols out there, and then never bothered wasting my time jumping in the UK again after that! Awesome place. You can get 10 jumps a day in out there if you're up for it.
That said, if you want to jump regularly at a UK dropzone and aren't bothered about going to Spain every other weekend, then try to do AFF there. You get to know the staff and other jumpers there, who will help you out, and they get to know you, which will help once you start progressing.
