creaking steering

Hi all, new member to this forum, although had my 3R for 2 years. Thanks to the guy with the silver gto at goodwood supercar breakfast club in june for letting me know about this site.
Anybody got the same problem with creaking steering when the car is hot in summer. It seems that when the steering column expands the plastic around the 2 contact pins on the indicator stalks rubs on the contact plate on the steering wheel thus making an anoying creak.
Any ideas on a fix ?. The noise is so annoying !

Yup, mine does that. Bit of PTFE spray usually stops it for a while.

yep spray a bit of penetrating oil, i also had the same with my clutch and gear lever, spraying in the right place should cure the squeak/creak almost immediately.
