Gear knob replacement - E46

Hi all

Just a quick question - ordered a new gear knob for my msport (oem part) - how do you remove the original - is it just a pull and twist - didnt want to brake it until i checked!

Grip hard, snatch upwards, keep chin out of line of travel, do not ask how i know this...

Best to remove it when sat in the passenger seat. Put into 2nd gear and pull upwards. Mind your face, particularly right eye, nose and mouth.

Be aware, it wont even start to budge until your face is in the firing line, then it will fly off like a bullet!.

I've been pulling mine for years but it still won't budge. Shame as it's getting very tatty.

hi all - thanks for your replies.......after the reading them I got my self all prepared ......one quick pull and it was off.....no dramas.

I am feeling very lucky!!
