09 Mondeo Mk IV.

Seems Belgian electrics may not be up to much. The freezing weather is throwing up this message every morning and this morning that door didn't unlock and I had to open it from inside. Annoyingly, it leaves the interior lights on as it thinks the door is open plus the stupid siren when you drive off.

After about 10 minutes, it goes away and we revert to normal.

I can't see any obvious sensor. Where should I look?

On early cars the sensor was behind the door trim actually in the lock assembly. On my 220 it is in the door shut-big bronze coloured latch. I would hope Ford stuck with the later idea so the door trim does not have to come off.

Good luck, WD40 may be worth a go? Although usually once they go they stay gone!

Mine was doing this the other week not locking/unlocking and it turned it was the connection in the drivers door jam as this apparently is part of the locking loop.
