Hi I recently got a sky home cinema system and for some reason I can only get the surround sound working when I use the DVD and Radio. when I press AV on the Home cinema control and it goes onto normal TV the surround sound wont work, meaning I can only get sound from the speakers on the TV any Ideas?

A what now? Sky Home Cinema system? Really?

You need to tell us what you ACTUALLY got. Model of TV, amplifier, what way you've got it plugged together, etc. You post was basically "I got some stuff and it doesn't work, why not?".

On the back of the surround sound does it have any audio inputs like a red/white phono or an optical? If so are any of them labelled AV? If one of them is then the TV audio out needs to be pluged into that socket in order to hear the sound.

If its just a SCART then it could be a couple of things. Try connecting the SCART to AV1 on the TV, on most TV's it will send the TV sound back down the SCART lead so it can go through your surround sound. On other TV's you have to plug the SCART into AV2 then in the TV AV connection menu you have to set the AV2 out preference to 'Monitor' in order for it to work.

Also make sure you have a fully wired SCART lead, they normally have 2 black ends if you have a lead that has one Grey end or one Orange end then they are only part wired.
