Casio G-Shock GW-3000BD "Gravity Defier"
Discussion
It turned up this morning, and pictures will follow later.
I already like it a lot. There's a real sense of precision from the dial, and although you'll go on the internet and find lots of people who think that setting up the watch is really hard. It isn't, although reading the manual is recommended.
It's a big bugger, and sits quite high on the wrist. Doubt it'd go under a shirt cuff unless you like a looser cuff.
The bracelet - off the wrist, it feels a bit rattly and crap. On the wrist, though, it's oddly robust and very comfortable. The links are held with some chunky-looking spring bars, which meant I could resize it at my desk without having to get home to my hammer and punch - I just used a 1mm screwdriver.
The domed crystal is something I like, even though it does give away a little in dial legibility at oblique angles.
The finish on the dial and hands is very good, and the blue on the dial is nowhere near as lurid as the internet pictures would have you believe.
It's an expensive G-Shock, but hey. Only live once and all that.

Mine turned up yesterday & I'd agree with everything CJ said.
The inner geek in me was just soooo delighted when I set the home time to London & the time & date automatically set itself with the hands wiring round "on their own".
Sad really, but do I care?
My only critisms so far are that the sub dials are not the easiest in the world to read & that the stop watch only runs to 23 mins 59.99 seconds.

Is this the one with the blue numbers and metal bracelet? I'd love one of those, but last time I looked they were quite hard to find for sale in this country - are they officially 'over here' now, or did you source from overseas?
Do they have lume, or is it backlit?
Can't wait to see the pics!

I bought mine from Amazon. So it falls firmly in the "easy to find" category.skoff said:

Lume, and it's pretty bright and extensive.Attention GW3000-BD-1AER owners!
Resin strap, $26 plus $10 shipping, and they ship to the UK. £22 or thereabouts at current rates.
Might have to have one!

That's the same strap as fitted to my G-1000-1A, it's comfy although a little stiff when new. Resin strap, $26 plus $10 shipping, and they ship to the UK. £22 or thereabouts at current rates.
Might have to have one!
