Not sure if anyone else has seen this month's car, but Ben Oliver is on the money again with his column in Car magazine. A claim to fame on my part - the vociferous emailer asking him not to mention Stowa or Sinn too often in future lest it allow too many people in on the secret was yours truly. bowtie

Anyway, Ben's column stands out in a sea of "lifestyle editorial" tosh in so many magazines and Sunday supplements. He's a knowledgeable bloke, and a proper watch enthusiast. All IMHO, of course.

A question though - anyone here got a MeisterSinger, the main subject of the column? I'm familiar with the Sinn regulateurs, which have a similar aesthetic (one big hand) albeit with a very different function (a regulateur emphasises minutes in the hour over hours in the day, whereas the MeisterSinger goes entirely the other way and almost ignores minutes altogether with a 12 hour counter dial) but I like the simple and clear ethos. It appeals to me in just the same way that a Junghans Max Bill and a Stowa MO does. Anyway, at under €1000 euros I now have another candidate for the list. Cheers Ben...

Don't have one but there's a dealer in Delft where I live who always has a nice display of a few and they do look very neat although I can't get past the "one of the hands must have dropped off" feeling every time I look at them.

Nice one, the Meistersingers are nice, or in a similar vein the Botta, where you get the added bonus (or complication) of it being a 24hr dial, on the quartz model at east -

This is the first time I've ever seen single handed watches - they're mental.

Thanks to this forum for another piece of education or should I say for opening my eyes to some more oddities of the world!
