March 6-9th I believe at the NEC, anyone going? Went last year on the Sunday, was busy (though not as busy as previous years according to some of the retailers I spoke to) and came back with a couple of useful items.

I'll be going this year with a couple of friends but on the Tuesday, should be quieter as it's near the close.

this is too true!!! some of the blokes up there are seriously strange! I will be going up to see if theres anything new going on, and maybe to buy a few bits i could probably live without.

I'm going on the Sunday. Hoping to get a show special deal on a Zeiss AF 24-70/2.8. Cameraworld had it at a good price last year but I'd spent my money on the 85/1.4 on the Jacobs stand .

Thinking of going this year...do you get good deals on products as such?

in that you will get something cheaper than online? Or d you get sucked into the location/ event?

I got a VGC Nikon F5 and a dozen films for £200 last year. Sadly my bonus will be in the paypacket after the show this year

The Zeiss ZA 85/1.4 I bought from Jacobs there was £809, which compared to camerapricebuster's best price of £960 or so at the time. 15% lower than anywhere else seemed like a good deal to me . Was cheaper than the grey importers as well.

I'll be there for a couple of days to make it worth my while driving all the way down from Glasgow. Its the seminars I go for, Some are really good... but then, there are some really pathetic ones that just involve a model showing some flesh.

I bought an unused Canon 1D3 for £1295 from them. It hadn't sold because the serial number was within the range that had the sub-mirror assembly problems. I risked it; send it to Canon and got a full check and OK - all FoC. It's worked perfectly and I'm very pleased. Hoping for some more bargains this year!
