Just thought id post this here for some variation.

Visiting friends at university on friday night went out and had some unprovoked aggrivation from some random skinhead chav type, thought nothing more of it till i was leaving and he grabbed me by the collar and ripped my shirt, at which point i decked him (on the basis that i wasnt going to wait for him to hit me). Cue getting thrown out etc.

Next night i was out in town, not drinking. Larger version of Skinhead and friends (ie not seen through drunken eyes!)see me and try to drag me out of pub with tempting offers of 'step outside we're gonna kill you'. They get thrown out and wait outside for me. i ask bar manager to get a police car outside for when i leave, police arrive, see skinhead and friends threatening me (through window of pub), chuck them in a van and take them away, then had 3(!) police cars escort me and my friends home.

Polite follow up this morning in which i said i didnt want to take it any further, seems the people were out of towners looking for a fight for the weekend.

So yeah, top marks to aberystwyth police for that

Thank you young Sir.

Contrary to popular belief BiB are there 90 % of the time to/do help and I am sure those currently serving appreciate you comments and also the attitude of Jamie Beeston who posted elsewhere.

Speaking as someone with a rather jaded view of our legal system I'd just like to say, nice one chaps, keep it up (hope you said as much to them Chris)

Yup. They were very helpful and i told them so, although the guys who were after me saved them the hard work of identifying who weas making the trouble as they were still making threatening motions and shouting as the police van pulled up beside them

and err. id like to add that im not quite that young (23, graduate), i dont hit people for no reason, and i am still sitting here wondering if there was another way out that i could have taken.

In the midst of the unsettling experience i saw a badly modified nova driving by outside. numberplate ending CAK. Im betting they werent aware of the irony...

Well done Chris, you were perfectly within your rights to deck the guy, don't agonise over it, it's not worth it!
